Imagination is a powerful tool; it can take common knowledge and completely morph our understandings. “Unscripted” is made to change perception on recognizable characters from childhood media. Corruption, nostalgia, and humor, are feelings that I explore using my art. Grayscale inspires the use of imagination, giving everyone their own interpretation. The darker tone I set between each panel may be humorous for some and dreadful to others depending on their personal morals or connections with each of the characters. Tampering with the look of a character changes the way you feel about them, so I’ve altered their presentation with a 1930s cartoon style to amplify the feeling of corrupt and uneasy. My intention is to attract people to the darker, twisted parody styles that inspire me currently. As we get older, we’re exposed to more things that influence our perception of the world around us and everyone typically becomes corrupted in some way. For those of us who are lucky, you’ll find the perspective that most benefits you.
