reference materialAfterEffects Transfer Mode
by Troy Clair
This technique allows the user to create many different effects dealing with an over all color tone, too effects that allow multiple images, footages or objects playing at the same time, but yet still be visible.

Transfer Mode works just like the Differences mode in Photoshop, but you can add key frames and animate it in After Effects.

This can be useful if you have an animation that you want to add an overall color tone too, but don't have the time to rerender your whole animation with changes to the lighting color or surface texture color.

This also allows other images and footages to be viewed at the same time by superimposing images and footage on top of each other.

Although you can do this by just changing the Opacity settings in AE you can obtain many more effects by using the transfer mode and changing the opacity settings.

First bring in a few different images or movie files into the Project window box.

Then go to Composition < New Composition.

Set your settings then click OK.

Next drag two images or movies or one of each into the Timeline box.   Place the files where you want in the TimeLine box and which one you want to be on top of the other image.
